Viewing, editing, and copying automation policies
All policies available in BMC Helix Intelligent Automation appear on the Automation Policies page.
To view policies
Click Policies and view the following information about policies:
- Policy Name
- Execution Mode: Shows if it is manual or automatic
- Status: Draft, Published, Disabled (If the connector is disabled)
- Last Updated: Shows the date, time, and the user who last updated the policy
Actions: The following table describes the actions available for each policy status:

To search for a policy
For a basic search, enter the policy name in the search box. The search results start appearing as you enter the policy name.
For an advanced search, perform the following steps:
- Click Advanced filter and do one of the following options:
- From the available filters, select a filter and choose the filter options:
- Status
- Execution Mode
- Updated by
- Enter the filter name in the text field, or to build a search expression, type the filter name and select the option from the list of available options.
For example, if you start typing Status, Status:Published, Status:Draft, and Status:Disabled options appear.
- From the available filters, select a filter and choose the filter options:
- Click Apply Filters to view policies based on the selected filters.
To edit a policy
You can only edit policies that are in a draft state. If you want to edit a published or a disabled policy, move it to draft first and then edit it.
- In the BMC Helix Intelligent Automation console, go to Policies.
- Search for the policy that you want to edit, and click Actions > Edit.
- Make changes to the policy based on your requirements and click Save.

To copy a policy
You can copy any policy except a disabled policy or a policy with a disabled action.
- In the BMC Helix Intelligent Automation console, go to Policies.
- Search for the policy that you want to copy, and and click Actions > Copy.
- Enter a new policy name and update any other field if required, and click Save.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
